Color Names
You are already familiar with using color names as the value of a color property, such as background-color: white
. This is mostly useful in coding practice and learning activities, as color names are easy to remember when developing quickly. The descriptive property of this method is also useful, as color names are usually easy to picture when looking at raw code.

However, color names are limited; modern browsers only recognize 140 names, so if it’s color variety you seek, you may decide to go with hex or RGB values.
